The Mipyme Transmed will launch a special transportation service for healthcare personnel in Havana, with 15 active routes and five additional routes strengthened at the request of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), as explained by its president, Yuleidis Macías Reina, in statements released by Cubadebate.

The new scheme aims to ensure the transportation of doctors and healthcare workers amid the deep crisis of public transport facing the capital, characterized by fuel shortages and a decrease in the number of buses in operation.

According to official information, the routes will cover all corners of the city, including municipalities such as La Lisa, Marianao, Habana del Este, San Miguel del Padrón, and Guanabacoa.

The routes will connect to hospitals and care centers up to the El Príncipe circuit.

He noted that the service will have two daily departures. In the morning, the departure will be at 6:30 a.m., returning at 8:30 a.m. In the afternoon, the vehicles will leave at 3:00 p.m. and return at 4:00 p.m., stated Macías Reina.

When vehicles move to the ends of the routes, they will operate under a taxi modality with a fare of 20 Cuban pesos (CUP), aimed at supporting mobility in areas where public transport is more limited, he added.

The measure aims to provide an organized alternative for the healthcare sector, deemed a priority by the authorities, in a context where the lack of fuel has impacted both state buses and other essential services in the capital, she emphasized.

So far, no details have been provided regarding the number of vehicles available or the total scope of beneficiaries of the program.
