Cuban-American Congressman Carlos Giménez issued a strong statement against the Cuban regime on Thursday, asserting that "the pathetic dictatorship in Cuba must be completely annihilated and relegated to the dustbin of history."

"Without a doubt, the pathetic dictatorship in Cuba must be completely annihilated and relegated to the dustbin of history," the legislator wrote on his social media, in a direct message against the political system formally headed by Miguel Díaz-Canel and controlled by the military leadership linked to Raúl Castro.

Hours earlier, also on Thursday, the congressman commented on the situation in the island, stating that the Cuban regime "spreads disinformation and lies to perpetuate its control" and called for an independent investigation to clarify the recently reported events.

"We must have an independent investigation and a verification mission to know exactly what happened. There can be no impunity for this evil dictatorship," he expressed.

In recent months, coinciding with the tightening of President Donald Trump's policy toward Havana and the increase in diplomatic and economic pressure against the regime, Giménez has intensified his public statements and legislative activism in Congress.

The Republican representative has insisted that any easing or gesture of support towards the Cuban government only contributes to prolonging the existence of a power structure that, in his view, represses fundamental freedoms and maintains alliances with authoritarian regimes.

Recently, Giménez condemned the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, for what he considered an attempt to "cover up" the Cuban dictatorship after the Caribbean leader advocated for dialogue and emphasized regional cooperation with the island.

On that occasion, the congressman criticized the JLP (Jamaica Labour Party), the ruling party in Jamaica, and warned that the country would face consequences for adopting a stance that, he claimed, favors the regime in Havana.

The new statements reinforce the increasingly direct tone of the Cuban-American legislator, who has aligned himself with the current U.S. administration's pressure strategy to weaken and hasten a political transition in Cuba.
