Ten Panamanian citizens were detained on Saturday in Cuba and accused of "subversive propaganda."
The news was shared this Monday by Yuniasky Crespo Baquero, Head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee, who posted a note from the Ministry of the Interior on her social media that was soon afterward made official.

"On Saturday, February 28, 2026, ten Panamanian citizens, residents of the country, were arrested as perpetrators of acts of propaganda against the constitutional order, as regulated in Article 124 of the Penal Code," the note reads.
The Panamanians were allegedly "instructed to enter Cuba for the purpose of creating signs with subversive content, contrary to the constitutional order."
"Once the objective was fulfilled, they were to leave the country, and upon their return to Panama, they would receive a sum of money that, according to their initial statements, ranges between one thousand and fifteen hundred dollars for each one," the statement adds.
"From the moment of the arrest, those involved have acknowledged being the perpetrators of these acts, carried out in the capital during the early hours of Saturday, February 28. Investigations are ongoing," it concludes.
Anti-government posters in Cuba this weekend
Posters challenging the regime appeared on Saturday in Boyeros and Jaimanitas, Havana, amid the excitement generated by Trump's latest statements.
The posters, signed with the initials CDPC, attributed to the opposition organization Camino a la Democracia Pacífica de Cuba (CDPC), contain slogans against communism, tyranny, and messages of support for Trump.
“‘We trust Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, and Mike Hammer,’ reads a sign that appeared on a wall in Boyeros,” in images shared by Yamila La Hija de Maceo’s X account.
For his part, journalist Mario J. Pentón was able to confirm several posters also with slogans against the regime such as "Down with tyranny," in the town of Jaimanitas, in the far west of Havana.
Cubans continue to express their discontent with the regime through posters all over the island, claimed the communicator, who shared a video from a neighbor stating that the people "woke up heated," with posters in various locations.
