The president of the United States, Donald Trump, praised the interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, on Wednesday and highlighted the cooperation between the two countries in energy matters, stating that Venezuelan oil "is beginning to flow."
The statement was published by the president himself on his social network Truth Social, where he praised the work of the Venezuelan government and the discussions with U.S. representatives.
"Delcy Rodríguez, who is the president of Venezuela, is doing a great job and working very well with the representatives of the United States," Trump wrote in the message.
The president also noted that Venezuelan oil "is starting to flow" again and described the professional relationship that, he said, has been established between the two countries as positive.
“Seeing the professionalism and dedication between both countries is a very good thing,” Trump added in the post.
Recently, the interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, surprised many by publicly referring to the American leader Donald Trump as “partner and friend”, in a rhetorical shift that distances itself from years of direct confrontation between Caracas and Washington.
Similarly, days ago Rodríguez spoke out about the escalating violence in the Middle East and adopted a cautious tone regarding the worsening conflict following the recent joint attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, although she avoided pointing to her most recent "ally" as responsible.
In a message shared on his social media, Rodríguez reported that he had a phone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in which he expressed Venezuela's "solidarity" in light of the "serious situation of instability and violence that has erupted in the Middle East," which he claimed has placed the entire region "on the brink of a dangerous escalation of war."
