The Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, stated this Tuesday that Washington will maintain its firm stance against Iran and .

In statements released by the White House and the official Rapid Response 47 account on social media platform X, Rubio asserted that preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons remains one of the key goals of U.S. strategy.

"Our goals have remained the same from the beginning. Iran will never be able to have a nuclear weapon, and we will not allow it to hide behind the immunity it believes it has due to its large inventory of short-range ballistic missiles," he stated.

The head of U.S. diplomacy added that Washington is fully confident that those objectives will be achieved.

Military escalation

Rubio also warned that in the coming hours and days, attacks against Iranian targets will intensify.

"They will soon begin to notice a change in the scope and intensity of these attacks when, frankly, the two most powerful air forces in the world start dismantling this terrorist regime," he stated.

The statements come amid the Operation “Epic Fury”, the military offensive launched by the United States and Israel against facilities linked to the Iranian military program, which has triggered an escalation of tensions in the region and retaliation attacks by Tehran.
