The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that a drone struck a parking lot next to the U.S. embassy building in Dubai and asserted that the country's embassies and diplomatic facilities are "under direct attack from a terrorist regime."

In statements to Fox News, Rubio maintained that the incident is part of a broader offensive and blamed the Iranian regime for the attacks against American interests in the region.

According to Sputnik Mundo on their X account, the diplomatic headquarters was struck by an unmanned aerial vehicle, which caused a fire in the vicinity of the consulate.

The media reported that the fire was extinguished and that no casualties were reported.

For its part, Univisión reported that the authorities in Dubai confirmed to Rubio that the fire caused by the drone was quickly brought under control by emergency teams and that there were no injuries.

Local authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring safety in the emirate.

Images of the incident began to circulate on social media, amid a growing escalation in the Middle East stemming from the military offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran.

The episode occurs in a context of high regional tension, with exchanges of attacks and cross warnings that have heightened concerns about an escalation of the conflict in the Gulf area.

This attack occurs less than 24 hours after the United States embassy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, was impacted by two drones launched by Iran, in an attack that did not result in injuries but did cause minor material damage to the diplomatic facility.

According to reports from CNN, citing sources familiar with the matter, the artifacts reached the site of the U.S. mission.
