Posters against the Cuban regime appeared this Sunday in the market square of the municipality of Colón, in Matanzas.
“Down with communism,” “Down with the dictatorship,” or “Fatherland and Life” are the slogans that can be seen on the wall of the market building in black paint, according to several reports on social media.
These posters are in addition to others that have appeared in recent weeks in Havana or Santiago de Cuba.
At the beginning of the month, ten Panamanian citizens were detained after entering Cuba allegedly with the goal of制作 and placing posters with critical messages against the Cuban regime.
According to the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba, those involved are said to have acknowledged their participation in the events that took place in the capital. The authorities accuse them of engaging in activities deemed "subversive and contrary to constitutional order."
The detained individuals could face sentences of up to 10 years in prison, according to Cuban authorities.
At the end of February, a sign reading “Long live Mike Hammer” appeared painted on the wall of a building in downtown Santiago de Cuba, clearly hinting at sympathy towards the head of the U.S. mission in Havana.
