The Republican congresswoman María Elvira Salazar invites residents of Florida's District 27 to a Case Assistance and Community Resources Fair this Thursday, March 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Westchester Regional Library, located at 9445 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33165. This was announced by Salazar on her X account on February 27.

The event is free, in-person, and bilingual —in English and Spanish— aimed at adults over 19 years old. One of its main features is that attendees will have the opportunity to open a case on the spot with the congresswoman's team if they are having issues with any federal agency or need guidance with government processes.

"Neighbors of FL-27, mark your calendars. We are bringing our team directly to you. If you are dealing with a federal agency, need help resolving a government issue, or have questions about available resources, our staff will be there to assist you, and you can open a case on the spot with one of our caseworkers," Salazar wrote in his announcement.

The confirmed agencies and services for the event include the Social Security Administration (SSA), Medicare, the IRS, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the U.S. Passport Service, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and the Driver's License service through the Miami-Dade Tax Collector.

This fair is part of a recurring practice at Salazar's office. In December 2024, a similar event was organized in the Miami-Dade public library system, with direct involvement from his team and representatives from government agencies over several days.

The 27th District of Florida, which covers parts of Miami, Coral Gables, Kendall, and Palmetto Bay, has a high concentration of Hispanic population, including a significant Cuban American community. Salazar was re-elected in 2022 and 2024 as the representative of that district.

Since taking her position, the congresswoman has secured 89.51 million dollars in federal funds for FL-27, including 25.6 million in fiscal year 2026 allocated for health projects, services for seniors, water, and the environment.

Those who wish to attend or need more information can contact 305-553-1134 or write to gonzalezja@mdpls.org to make their reservation. "We look forward to serving you and ensuring you receive the support you deserve!" concluded Salazar in his announcement.

The congresswoman has maintained a busy legislative schedule in recent weeks. Recently, Salazar stated that the Cuban people are ready for freedom and also demanded clarifications regarding an encounter in Cuban waters with a boat from Florida.
