Neighbors set fire to garbage at the intersection of Belascoaín and Jesús Peregrino, in Centro Habana, just a few blocks from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, amidst a new day of protests in Cuba.

The information was shared by Cuban journalist José Raúl Gallego through a post on his Facebook profile, where he pointed out that the incident occurred on the tenth consecutive day of protests in various parts of the country.

The fact is significant as it occurs near the Ministry of Energy and Mines, amid a growing social unrest due to the prolonged blackouts and the energy crisis affecting much of the island.

In addition, there are frequent reports on social media about the accumulation of garbage on the streets of the capital of Cuba.

In recent days, protests have been reported in several localities, where citizens have taken to the streets to demand an end to power outages and to denounce the shortage of food and the decline in living conditions.

The location where the garbage fire was reported is situated in a central area of Havana, relatively close to the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, one of the institutions involved in managing the electricity crisis the country is experiencing.

The images shared on social media show flames and smoke coming from a pile of waste on the public road while some neighbors look on at the scene.
