The Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel sparked a wave of reactions on social media after publishing a message in which he denounced alleged threats from the United States against Cuba and asserted that the country will withstand any external aggression.

In his , the leader accused Washington of threatening "almost daily" to overthrow the Cuban constitutional order by force, in direct response to an escalation of statements from President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the days prior.

"Any external aggressor will encounter an impenetrable resistance," Díaz-Canel wrote boldly, reminding many of the words of his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, when he told Trump, "Come for me, coward!" just days before being captured.

The message provoked numerous criticisms and mockery from Cuban users, who compared his speech to the statements made by chavismo in Venezuela.

Various internet users, referring to the phrase by Maduro that outraged Washington — "Come for me" — ironically urged Díaz-Canel to repeat it.

"He just said 'come for me,'" commented a user in a message that gathered dozens of reactions. Others added phrases like "you forgot to say 'I'll be waiting here'" or compared the situation to recent episodes in Venezuela.

In addition to the mockery, many comments reflected social dissatisfaction within the island, with direct criticism of the government's management and calls for political change.

Some users questioned the official narrative regarding the economic crisis, noting that daily difficulties—marked by blackouts, shortages, and the deterioration of basic services—contrast with the government's rhetoric and the opulence in which its leaders live.

The reactions are taking place against a backdrop of increasing tension in Cuba, where protests, noise demonstrations, and expressions of discontent have been reported in several cities across the country in recent days.
