On the night of this Thursday, new clashes with pots and pans were reported in various areas of Havana, specifically in the neighborhoods of Lawton and Alamar, amidst the growing discontent due to the prolonged blackouts affecting the population.

According to reports shared on social media, residents of both areas sounded their pots in protest against the prolonged power outages.

In Alamar, users shared videos in which loud banging of pots and pans can be heard during the night, alongside protest slogans.

Meanwhile, in Lawton, neighbors also carried out a similar action and burned a dumpster, with expressions of rejection towards the power situation and calls against the Electric Company.

One of the testimonies shared on Facebook states: “A tired people lose their fear. Protest in Lawton, Havana,” reflecting the atmosphere of accumulated frustration after days of power outages that, in some areas, exceed 20 and even 30 hours.

In another post, users expressed their outrage directly against the Electric Union (UNE), holding it responsible for the energy crisis the country is experiencing.

These events occur against a backdrop of deterioration of the National Electric System (SEN), which has caused outages lasting several days in almost the entire country, including Havana, and has sparked a wave of protests in various towns.
