The Cuban Leyanís Pérez was crowned this Saturday at the XXI World Indoor Athletics Championships held in Toruń, Poland, with a winning jump of 14.95 meters.

This is Pérez's second indoor title, as he triumphed over Venezuelan superstar and world record holder Yulimar Rojas, who finished in second place with a score of 14.86.

Saly Sarr from Senegal won the bronze with a time of 14.70.

The sequence for the Cuban was a first jump of 14.88, the winning jump of 14.95 on the second attempt, and then 14.49, 14.77, and two misses.

Pérez's title adds to the indoor title from Nankín in March 2025 and her outdoor world championship crown from last September at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championship, after recording a jump of 14.94 meters.

At that time, the 23-year-old Cuban also dethroned the Venezuelan legend Rojas, the Olympic champion in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
