The activist and communicator Alexander Otaola assured that the freedom of Cuba is near since the “Free Cuba Rally” held in Hialeah, where part of the Cuban exile gathered.
According to what was expressed to CubaNet, the current environment reflects a pivotal moment for the country.
"Freedom is very close, freedom is in the air," he stated, referring both to the situation on the island and to the feelings of Cubans abroad.
Otaola emphasized the importance of unity among Cubans both inside and outside of Cuba as a key element for achieving political change.
In that regard, he emphasized that there is a combination of efforts that could lead to the end of the current system.
"I am sure that in perfect combination, Cubans both inside and outside the island will achieve the definitive overthrow of the dictatorship," he stated during his speech.
The activist also noted that the future of the country will depend on the will of the Cubans themselves and the decisions they make in a potential transition scenario.
He also referred to the existence of a strategy to achieve that goal.
"There is a way, there is a pathway for working with the liberation pact," he stated, while insisting that the change could materialize in the near future.
His statements come against the backdrop of a growing mobilization of the Cuban exile community and amidst a situation marked by the economic and social crisis facing the island.
