The Cuban reggaeton artist Velito El Bufón spoke about his ex-partner Thalía in a recent interview conducted by the media outlet La Familia Cubana, although he chose to be very brief and avoid any details that could fuel the controversy surrounding his personal life for months.

The interview took place upon the artist's arrival at a venue in Havana, where he would perform a show later that night for his fans.

When the journalist asked him about his private life and his relationship with Thalía, the mother of his two children, Velito responded with few words but with a seemingly conciliatory message: "I'm super happy, I'm super content. And my ex is super happy and super content."

The singer did not want to go further and closed the topic with a statement that left no room for more questions: "Our private life... is private."

Before changing the subject, he acknowledged that fans and the media will always have something to say: "Of course, I can be brief in that regard. Fans talk, you know? They will always talk. The pages too, that's their job."

His only promise to the audience was musical: "The only thing I can offer the public is lots of music. Lots of music and lots of music."

A breakup marked by controversy

The context of these words is particularly charged. Velito and Thalía publicly announced their breakup on February 20, just days after the birth of their second child, Thiago, on February 9. The artist had left Cuba three days after the birth, which sparked an initial wave of criticism on social media.

Thalía confirmed the separation on Instagram with a message that surprised many due to its maturity: "His well-being is my children's well-being, which is why I will never wish him harm." The actual breakup, however, had occurred months before the public announcement.

Since then, the saga has not stopped. In March, Velito was spotted in Spain with Paula Martínez, a flight attendant, and on the very same April 13 — coinciding with Thalía's 21st birthdayhe made that relationship official with a romantic video that included the phrase "I love you."

Thalía responded emphatically to the situation: "I am a single woman; my children are not looking for a dad," she stated in a message that left no doubt about her position.

The artist, nicknamed the Shakiro of Cuba for his post-breakup songs, also released a preview of Te echo de menos, with lyrics about jealousy, which further fueled the debate on social media regarding his separation.
