The influencer Alex Otaola shared this Thursday an exclusive report on the situation of Chocolate MC at the South Florida Reception Center in Doral, Florida, where the Cuban reggaeton artist is serving a 10-year prison sentence.
The testimony was sent by a follower of the program who had direct contact with the artist and describes their physical, emotional, and spiritual state after more than 30 days in a special confinement module.
According to the message read on air, the authorities classify Chocolate MC as a "high-profile inmate" due to his fame, which prevents him from mingling with the other prisoners: "He is in the South Florida Reception Center, in Doral. He has been there for 30 days in an area they call confinement; in other words, it's like a small prison within the prison itself."
On the day of the report, the artist was taken out of his cell for an interview with medical counseling, during which the follower was able to speak with him for about 10 minutes: "He was taken from his cell this morning for an interview with a medical counselor. According to what he told me, he has surrendered to God. He got rid of all his saints and religious images. He has not heard from his family in over 30 days, as he has not been allowed visitors, but I saw him in good spirits and healthy."
Despite the confinement, the witness described the reggaeton artist in a positive light: "He keeps talking as usual, joking and laughing. He has no choice."
However, the artist expressed discomfort with the conditions: "At least he acknowledged that his life had been a disaster and that he was regretful and devoted to God, that he misses the air conditioning since he is hot all day, that he doesn't even go out in the sun, and that he feels claustrophobic being locked up all the time and cannot understand why they have him like this, because he hasn't done anything."
The witness also clarified that the artist's behavior within the prison does not justify the treatment received: "He hasn't done anything in the prison; he hasn't behaved poorly."
The most striking aspect of the report is the apparent spiritual transformation of Chocolate MC, who since behind bars found solace in faith as early as November 2025, when he stated from the TGK prison that he sang "praises every day."
This image contrasts with the one shared by her sister Isis Sierra on April 2, when she reported mistreatment against Chocolate MC to Telemundo 51 and read words attributed to the artist: "They have me stuck in the box, without bathing, without clothes, without a blanket to cover myself, sleeping on a bare mattress."
The witness concluded his message with a prediction: "I believe that he will come out of this transformed into an evangelical pastor."
Chocolate MC was sentenced to 10 years in prison on March 2 after accepting a plea deal that covered three charges: incitement to the murder of Damián Valdez Galloso, kidnapping of a fan, and theft from a hotel room.
Otaola concluded the report with a direct message to the artist: "I hope, I hope that you can recover and that you can make the best of something as terrible as this [...] perhaps living amidst so much concrete, living behind so many bars and on so much concrete flooring, well, it may teach you to value freedom and do good when you get out of there in 10 years."
