Brazil and Morocco finished the group stage of Group C of the 2026 World Cup on Wednesday as the two teams qualified directly for the Round of 16, after both secured emphatic victories in the final matchday.

Scotland is currently advancing as the best third-place team, while Haiti is eliminated without earning a single point in three matches.

The results of the placed Brazil in the first position with seven points and a goal difference of +6, followed by Morocco, also with seven points but with +3.

The goal difference was the criterion that separated both teams, which were tied in wins, draws, and losses.

In the decisive match, Brazil crushed Scotland 3-0 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Vinícius Jr. opened the scoring in the seventh minute by capitalizing on a Scottish defensive mistake, extended the lead during injury time of the first half, and Matheus Cunha rounded off the tally. The Scots did not manage a single shot on target throughout the match.

At the same time, Morocco triumphed over Haiti with a score of 4-2 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, thanks to goals from Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari, Soufiane Rahimi, and Gessime Yassine.

The Caribbeans responded with two goals, one of which was scored by Chelsea Domond, but they were unable to avoid defeat or earn their first point in the tournament.

The group had kicked off on June 13 with a draw between the two favorites: Brazil 1-1 Morocco at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with a goal by Saibari in the 21st minute and an equalizer from Vinícius Jr. in the 32nd.

That same day, Scotland defeated Haiti 1-0 with a goal from John McGinn, marking the Scots' return to the World Cup after 28 years of absence since France 1998.

On the second matchday, Morocco defeated Scotland 1-0 with a goal from Saibari in the second minute, while Brazil crushed Haiti 3-0 with a brace from Cunha before halftime. Saibari emerged as the most decisive player for the Moroccans in the group, scoring crucial goals in the first two matchdays.

According to FIFA's official format for the 2026 World Cup, Brazil, as the first in Group C, will face the second team from Group F in the round of 16, while Morocco, as the second, will compete against the first team from Group D. Both rivals are still dependent on the final outcomes of the other groups.

Scotland's pass as the best third-placed team is provisional: its final confirmation will depend on the results of the remaining groups, as the expanded format with 48 teams qualifies the eight best third-placed teams from the 12 groups to complete the 32 teams for the new round of the round of 16.
