Homeland and Life! Five years of unyielding struggle against tyranny

This is not the time for diplomatic half-measures. The reality is that the Cuban people have not stopped fighting for a single day. From the ongoing protests against power outages to the daily demonstrations that erupt throughout the island, the resistance is relentless

Today, on the fifth anniversary of the historic July 11, my commitment to the Cuban people is stronger than ever. That day, the bravery of a hungry and oppressed people who dared to challenge the regime exposed the cowardice of a leadership that only knows how to instill terror through brute force and fear. As the only member of the House of Representatives born on the island, I do not speak only as a politician; I speak as a son of the homeland who knows, firsthand, the misery that Castroism has imposed on us for nearly seven decades.

The policy of the United States does not allow concessions to these tyrants. My work in Congress is relentless: to financially suffocate the dictatorship and expose its network of modern slavery, misleadingly referred to as "medical missions", which exploits the talent of our professionals to line the pockets of their executioners.

I categorically support the vision of Secretary of State Marco Rubio: dialogue with dictators is not an option, they must be fought against. As long as political prisoners exist —heroes in filthy dungeons— our duty is to tighten the sanctions until we cut off the last cent that finances the regime's repressive apparatus.

It is not a time for diplomatic nuances. The reality is that the Cuban people have not ceased to fight for a single day. From the constant pot-banging against the blackouts to the daily protests that erupt across the island, resistance is unwavering. That bravery is our compass and the fuel that compels us to redouble our efforts in Washington. Every cry for freedom from within the island strengthens us in exile to continue denouncing, tirelessly, the abuses of a regime that is crumbling under its own incompetence.

My vision is non-negotiable: the absolute end of the communist system. I do not seek cosmetic reforms that merely prolong this ordeal; I demand a transition to a true democracy, where pluralism and economic freedom are the norm, not the privilege of a criminal elite.

To those who resist on the island today: your struggle is our struggle. We will not take a step back. We will continue to denounce the criminal regime in every hallway of the Capitol and at every international forum. The freedom of Cuba is already palpable; we are closer than ever.

Homeland and Life! Down with the dictatorship!
