A physical altercation between comedian Alexis Valdés and actress Zajaris Fernández shook the Cuban exile community in Miami this Sunday, as they were enjoying the final of the 2026 World Cup at a bar.
Alexis confronted Zajaris, labeling her as a bad person and accusing her of being an ally of Alex Otaola. The video captured the moment when he struck her, knocked her phone down, and allegedly shoved her, prompting others present to intervene.
Zajaris recounted what happened during a live session on Instagram, published early Monday morning, where she explained that she had arrived at the venue invited by friends who had a reserved table to watch the soccer match between Argentina and Spain, which ended in a victory for La Roja (1-0).
The actress said that there were many people inside the venue, and she went out to mingle with more individuals on the terrace. In the courtyard, she came across other acquaintances and sat down with them, having initially not seen Alexis Valdés in the establishment.
Zajaris claims that it was the comedian's partner, Claudia Valdés, who approached her first to ask her to leave the establishment. "I told her I wouldn’t leave because it’s a public place, that I didn’t understand why she was asking me that, and she said: 'Do you speak Spanish?'"
Later, Alexis returned to the actress's table repeatedly to confront her, accusing her of speaking ill of his daughters, of being a "drug addict," and of being an "ally of Otaola," accusations that Zajaris categorically denied.
"He said to me, 'You took Otaola's side and all that nonsense.' Guys, he hung up the phone on me. I picked it up and thought, 'Is this for real?' He hung up again, and that’s when it broke down for me," Zajaris recounted, describing the moment Valdés snatched the device she was using to record him, breaking both the screen and the rear camera, as the actress stated.
Zajaris called the police, who arrived at the location, took a report, and ordered Alexis and Claudia to leave the establishment. There were no arrests because Zajaris requested it, although her lawyer advised her to have them arrested.
A central point of the narrative was Zajaris's clarification of his connection with Otaola, which dismantles the premise of Alexis Valdés's attack.
"I haven’t spoken to Otaola in two years. It’s been two years since I last said anything to Otaola. And still, I haven’t stopped supporting him in his ideals, those that relate to me, because that has nothing to do with it," the actress stated.
Otaola himself confirmed this rift by posting about the incident on his Instagram: "Alexis is unaware of my distancing from Zajaris and doesn't know how to behave in public."
Zajaris also pointed out that the only real conflict that could exist between her and Alexis Valdés is a debt he owes her from years ago. She claims that she has never demanded it from him.
The feud between Alexis Valdés and Otaola dates back to 2022, when Otaola accused the comedian of paying miserable salaries to the artists in his projects. Since then, the exchanges have been constant: in September 2025, Valdés called Otaola a "mercenary," and in November he labeled him a "psychopath without empathy or soul."
Zajaris concluded her account with a statement of determination: "I am not going to feel fear nor am I going to feel inhibited about going absolutely anywhere. Because having my ideals doesn't make me a better or worse person."
The police report will be available in approximately 14 days. Zajaris noted that there were security cameras at the location that would have recorded the entire incident.
