Los Pichy Boys reacted this Wednesday to the debate regarding the deportation of Cubans from the United States and, while mentioning immigration policies of Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama, they asserted that the primary responsibility for the exodus from the island lies with the Cuban regime.
“Before blaming Trump for deporting Cubans. Before blaming Biden for allowing thousands of Cubans in with a document that turns many into deportees and prevents them from seeking refuge under the Cuban Adjustment Act. Before blaming Barack Obama for eliminating the Wet Foot, Dry Foot Policy that automatically granted us status,” the Cuban-American comedy duo posted on X.
After mentioning the three U.S. administrations, Los Pichy Boys directed their criticism towards those they consider responsible for millions of Cubans leaving their country.
One must have guts to blame Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, Díaz-Canel, and the entire PCC who are responsible for all of us being far from home today, they stated.
The message ended with a powerful phrase: «Down with the dictatorship!».
The publication arrives amid growing concern within the Cuban community in the United States over the tightening of immigration policies, the increase in ICE detentions, and deportation orders.
An example that clearly reflects this fear was reported in June, when 1,642 Cubans received deportation orders from U.S. immigration courts, an increase of 5% compared to March.
Between October 2025 and June 2026, 4,007 orders were issued against citizens of the island, only in Florida.
Having a deportation order does not necessarily mean that the person has been expelled from the United States, as the enforcement of those decisions falls under the jurisdiction of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). However, it undoubtedly causes significant fear.
However, arrests have also increased.
An analysis from the Cato Institute published in April indicated that detentions of Cuban migrants by ICE increased by 463% between October 2024 and January 2026.
The United States also continues deportation flights to Cuba. In February, 170 Cubans were returned to the island on the first deportation flight of 2026.
In May, it also came to light that the potential repatriation of hundreds of thousands of Cubans in the United States was among the most sensitive topics in the migratory conversations between Washington and Havana.
The position now expressed by Los Pichy Boys is particularly significant because the duo has publicly supported the current U.S. administration's pressure policy against the Havana regime.
In April, they urged Cubans to trust Secretary of State Marco Rubio and asserted that "the freedom of Cuba is near."
