The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Domingo Trujillo-Morejón, a Cuban citizen residing in Miami, on Tuesday after accumulating three convictions for lewd sexual assault against minors under Florida law, according to an official statement from the Department of Homeland Security released this Wednesday.

The case was included in the series "Lo peor de lo peor" (Worst of the Worst), a DHS campaign that publicly identifies immigrants in irregular situations with serious criminal records.

According to the statement, Trujillo-Morejón was convicted in Miami on three counts of the crime classified in Florida as lewd or lascivious sexual conduct, which involves engaging in sexual activity with minors aged between 12 and 16 years, and constitutes a second-degree felony under state law.

The DHS did not specify the dates of the convictions, the court that issued them, nor the current status of the detainee's immigration proceedings.

The Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, accompanied the announcement with a statement in which he affirmed: "Thanks to President Trump, the brave men and women of ICE can finally do their job and make America safe again. Just yesterday, ICE arrested more public safety threats across the country, including pedophiles, violent offenders, and drunk drivers."

Mullin also warned that "politicians from sanctuary cities may continue trying to protect illegal immigrants, but the Trump administration will always put the American people first, arresting and deporting illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds."

The same statement included arrests of nationals from Mexico, Laos, and Guatemala for offenses ranging from indecent acts with minors to assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The case of Trujillo-Morejón is not the first involving a Cuban with convictions for sexual offenses against minors appearing in this campaign. In August, Manuel Victores-Alzola was arrested in Miami after accumulating three convictions for sexual acts with a minor within his family.

In October, three more Cubans were added to the same series for offenses that included attempted murder, intentional homicide, and endangering a minor.

The campaign "The Worst of the Worst" was launched in December 2025 and expanded in September 2026 with 5,000 new profiles. Throughout this year, Cubans have appeared repeatedly in its statements, primarily in Florida.

Currently, more than 3,410 Cubans appear on the campaign's website and most of them (almost 2,000) were captured in Florida.

The data shows a significant presence: between August 2025 and August 2026, Cubans accounted for 29% of the 451 immigration arrests made by ICE in Miami-Dade under cooperation agreements with local authorities, which amounts to 131 cases during that period.

Este arresto forma parte de una oleada de operaciones de ICE contra inmigrantes con antecedentes penales. Sigue todos los detalles en nuestra sección de
