“Well, my people, the motorcycle thief is already detained in the Zapata Unit. We did the work that the DTI (Technical Investigations Department) did not do. Now we just hope that this criminal says who he sold the motorcycle to, and that the weight of the law truly falls on him," he wrote in hisprofile on Facebook.
According to the publication,The thief was detained at the Zapata y C police station, in Vedado.
The day before, the activist had also reported through the social network itself the theft of the means of transportation with which a neighbor took her to the interview she had withGilmore, special representative of the European Union (EU) for Human Rights (HR).
“Since this morning (the) person who took me to the European Union yesterday to interview Mr. Gilmore (…) mysteriously today (November 25) had his motorcycle stolen,” Frometa said in a direct transmission from his Facebook account while walking to demonstrate at the intersections of 26th and 51st Avenues, near the Puentes Grandes Shopping Center.
The woman indicated that she had an eyewitness who saw when the motorcycle was taken and said that the DTI did not do their job when they pointed out where the stolen vehicle was.
The incident occurred one day afterseveral activists and relatives of political prisoners will meet with the special representative of the European Union The last friday.
The meeting, held at the EU Delegation in the Cuban capital, was kept in the most absolute secrecy and was not published on the social networks of Gilmore or other European officials, which is why Cubans lamented on social networks the lack of interest of the European institutions about the fate of those persecuted and imprisoned by the regime.
“Relatives who interviewed Eamon Gilmore: mother of Luis Robles, wife of Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca and the parents of Jorge and Nadir (Martín) Perdomo. They testified that there are political prisoners in Cuba and they are tortured, they asked me to visit the prisons and see it,” the activist revealed.Iliana Hernandez on their social networks.
It is a representation of themore than a thousand political prisoners of the regime, which includes protesters who took to the streets during thehistoric 11J protests in Cuba (theMartín Perdomo brothers), spontaneous protesters likeLuis Robles Elizástigui andfreelance journalists such as Lazarus Yuri Valley Rock.
Frómeta herself confirmed the celebration of the meeting on her social networks.
“We thank God that we were able to unmask the regime despite continuing to hide our political prisoners, as well as the serious health situation, medicines, food and physical torture to which the dictatorship keeps them subjected,” Frómeta said when commenting on Hernández's tweet.
It also emerged thatCuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel met with Gilmore, whom he received at the Palace of the Revolution at the end of the European official's work day in Havana last Friday.
