Spectacular accident in Camagüey: Motorcyclist seriously injured after colliding with a Lada

A serious traffic accident occurred yesterday afternoon at the entrance of the Monte Carlo neighborhood in the city of Camagüey, when a motorcyclist collided with a Lada car.

According to witnesses on social media, initial reports claimed that the motorcycle driver had died at the scene of the accident. However, other accounts refuted that statement, asserting that although he is in critical condition, he is still fighting for his life.

So far, no official details have been provided regarding the exact circumstances of the collision or the current health status of the motorcyclist. Local authorities have not issued a statement about the incident.

This incident adds to the growing list of traffic accidents in Cuba, where the increase in motorcycle usage and the lack of proper signage on certain roads have been identified as contributing factors to these events.

This Saturday morning, a tragic traffic accident that occurred in Guantánamo resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to witnesses and local authorities.

The accident took place around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ahogados and Crombet streets, when two motorcyclists speeding collided with an elderly man approximately 65 years old.

As a result of the collision, the victim lost their life immediately at the scene of the incident. Although it has been clarified that the drivers were not engaged in an illegal race, witnesses confirmed that they were speeding.

"One of the motorcyclists was transported to the 'Agosthino Neto' Provincial Hospital due to injuries sustained from the impact," indicated the profile of Facebook 'Miguel Noticias', by the official journalist Miguel Reyes Mendoza.

Recently, a motorist struck an elderly woman on a street in El Vedado in Havana, and stayed at the scene to help her.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 29, around noon, at the intersection of 17th and K streets, according to a witness who shared photos on their Facebook profile.

"No it wasn't the motorcyclist's fault, but rather the grandmother's negligence. (As far as I know)," revealed on his social media the user identified as Aramis Taboada, broadcaster and audiovisual director.
