A tragic traffic accident claimed the life of Yordan Carrión, a young motorist residing in the Santiago neighborhood of Altamira, in the early hours of this Saturday.
The accident occurred near the well-known Tienda Cubalse, situated at an intersection deemed dangerous, as other motorcyclists have lost their lives at the same spot upon entering the city.
According to information published by independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, Carrión was not riding alone on the motorcycle. His companion, Gerber Pérez Jardines, another young man from the neighborhood, survived the accident and is in recovery at a hospital facility in the city.

Witnesses of the incident reported that minutes before the collision, Yordan Carrión was revving the motorcycle in front of the market at the Placita de Altamira.

"Very painful to wake up and find out that one of my own has passed away, my child, my little one. May God hold you high; you left behind a family here, always watch over them from wherever you are. We will always remember you. As I used to say: Yordancito, take it easy… Now, who will run for me? Rest in peace, brother, fly high. My condolences to the family, what a great sorrow."
Other friends of his, Lorena Lorenzo Lores, described him as unforgettable, someone with whom she shared years of youth and who, despite the passage of time, remained a constant presence in her life. She expressed her sorrow over the promise he could not fulfill and the irreparable void left by his departure in those who loved him.
