Five people were injured when a truck with seven passengers went off the road on the highway to Camajuaní, near Loma Santa Fe, in the province of Villa Clara, on Monday afternoon, according to preliminary reports.

"The incident occurred when a private truck of the Deluxe brand, with license plate P 168 947, lost control on a curve. The vehicle was carrying seven passengers," reported on Facebook the communicator Henry Omar Pérez.

The injured have been identified as Dunieskis Vázquez Quintero, 49 years old, Yusimy Fuentes de la Rosa, 45, Zuleiki Pérez Domínguez, 36, and Yosnier Villa Borges, 40, all with multiple contusions; while Jorge Consuegra Guerra, 73 years old, is reported to have pneumothorax.

According to the preliminary report from the authorities, "no fatalities or serious injuries reported". Two people emerged unscathed from the accident.

Pérez specified that after receiving first aid at the clinic in the municipality of Camajuaní, the injured were transferred to the Arnaldo Milián Castro Clinical Surgical Hospital in Santa Clara for "a more thorough evaluation and treatment."

He also assured that "patients are receiving the necessary medical attention and have expressed satisfaction with the services provided."

According to the publication, authorities from the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) are investigating the causes of the accident at the scene.
