The neighbors themselves subdued him and handed him over to the authorities, following a mobilization in which the municipal police also participated.

During his transfer to the Border District Prosecutor's Office, the Cuban caused further damage by breaking the patrol car's window. Local reports indicate that he was apparently under the influence of some substance, although this has not been confirmed by the authorities, local journalist Julio Navarro Cárdenas said.

The affected individuals demand that the case be referred to the National Institute of Migration (INM) to determine if the man has pending arrest warrants and to ensure he is held accountable for the damages caused. They also request that the repair of the broken glass be arranged, as in some cases, they involve private vehicles for family use.

Official sources confirmed that Rosendo “N” had been arrested in 2022 in Miami for the commission of certain crimes. He is now in the custody of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Chiapas, awaiting the determination of his legal situation.

The incident has reignited discontent in Tapachula, a border city that experiences ongoing tension due to the migratory flow, where local residents are demanding that those responsible for such events not go unpunished on the grounds of their migrant status.
