A Cuban TikTok user, Malena Fernández (@fdez_male), has touched the hearts of hundreds by sharing a very special memory: the moment she was reunited with her mother after a long time apart.

In the video, accompanied by the song “Yo volveré” by El Uniko, we see how Malena enters a house in Cuba and approaches her mother, who at first does not recognize her. The clip includes a text explaining the reason: “My mom has visual impairment; she didn't recognize me until I spoke.”

As soon as the daughter utters a few words, the woman breaks into a loving smile, and they embrace in a hug that conveys everything words cannot express. The young woman's father also appears in the scene, visibly moved, as they all share this very special moment together as a family.

Although the video was published recently, Malena herself clarified that it is a memory, a way to relive that moment she experienced a couple of years ago, which profoundly marked her life and that of her loved ones.

The comments quickly filled the post with affection and empathy. "What a beautiful encounter," "The gentleman's expression says it all," and "How rewarding is that hug" were some of the most repeated phrases by users.

Stories like this have become commonplace among Cubans living abroad who turn to social media to share those reunions that distance makes even more touching.
