A traffic accident that occurred on the morning of this Saturday at the intersection of Juan Bruno Zayas and Lacret, in the Havana municipality of Diez de Octubre, has once again highlighted the issues of traffic indiscipline that cause numerous incidents in the capital.
The information was shared in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTS BUSES & TRUCKS for more experience and fewer victims!", where the user Eduardo González Ledo shared the first images and details of the collision.
The collision involved a truck and a Dodge vehicle of the type known as "pisicorre."
The latter, as shown in the photos, suffered quite a bit of damage.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver failed to stop at the STOP sign, which is believed to have caused the collision at a corner that many residents consider a critical point for traffic in Havana.
So far, it has not been confirmed whether there were any injured individuals, although those living in the area claim that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.
"In that corner, horrors can be seen," commented an internet user, who emphasized that Lacret is a preferred street and that Juan Bruno Zayas has STOP signs in both directions and visibility that is considered adequate.
"But well, that's how things are," he added, highlighting the citizens' discontent.
Another user pointed out that there used to be a flashing traffic light at that intersection, but its absence, combined with the width of Juan Bruno Zayas, gives the false impression that it is the priority road.
"If you add to that the incompetence of some drivers who don't pay attention to the signs, there’s bound to be an accident," he emphasized.
The comments multiplied, all pointing in the same direction: a lack of responsibility behind the wheel.
Several users insisted that many drivers continue to ignore basic traffic rules, a behavior that contributes to situations like this occurring with alarming frequency.
