Ángel García Seoane, the communist mayor of Oleiros, in A Coruña, sparked controversy in his town by ordering the installation of municipal posters that depict the president of the United States, Donald Trump, as an "international terrorist."

The illuminated advertisements are spread throughout the municipality and display the word "Wanted" alongside a reward of $0.50 for Trump.

Público Newspaper noted that García Seoane began to stand out in his youth for his closeness to Fidel Castro and for having been monitored by the CIA in the past. The mayor justified the campaign by claiming that “Trump is a murderer," and therefore "is worth nothing.”

The Spanish councilor accused the U.S. leader of "financing massacres in Palestine, provoking wars for profit, and persecuting migrants."

Oleiros, with approximately 40,000 inhabitants and the highest per capita income in Galicia, has been governed for more than four decades by Alternativa dos Veciños, the independent leftist party founded by Seoane in 1976.

It is not the first time that the mayor has used public panels to deliver political messages. On other occasions, he has criticized leaders such as Benjamin Netanyahu and Ariel Sharon, whom he has also labeled as "murderers."

His provocative style has turned this small and prosperous Galician municipality into a constant focal point of political controversy.
