The Cuban content creator Deivis Carballo Rodríguez (@diamond_blued) recently traveled to Cuba to enjoy a well-deserved vacation and reunite with his family in his hometown of Caibarién, Villa Clara.

During her visit, she shared an emotional video with her followers in which she appears alongside her sister enjoying one of the most beloved classics of Cuban popular cuisine: the pan con minuta.

The fish fillets are prepared with small fish that are cleaned, butterflied while leaving the tail intact, and then breaded with egg and breadcrumbs before being fried in hot oil.

This dish, simple yet full of flavor, is an icon of Cuban street food and a common snack in coastal areas, although nowadays it has become a luxury due to the high cost of fish and other ingredients.

In the video, Deivis expresses nostalgically: "I know there are food options in the United States, but there's nothing like having a sandwich in Cuba with my sister."

The post sparked reactions among its followers, many of whom shared similar childhood memories from the Island. Beyond the culinary gesture, the video reflects the deep emotional connection that many Cubans have with the flavors of their homeland, those that evoke family, identity, and memory.
