Cuban citizen arrested for theft in Puebla, Mexico



A Cuban man, identified as Félix “N,” was arrested for theft at a supermarket in Puebla. Without a formal complaint, he is in the custody of the INM due to his irregular immigration status. He had been living in Mexico for two years.

A young man of Cuban nationality was caught while stealing in a supermarket in the municipality of Cuautlancingo, in the state of Puebla, Mexico, and was arrested by the police, according to local news reports.

The Secretary of Citizen Security and Civil Protection of Cuautlancingo arrested Félix “N”, 20 years old, for the crime of robbery in the act, committed at a branch of the commercial chain Chedraui.

Employees of the establishment discovered the man while he was stealing merchandise and immediately notified the police.

After his arrest, the supermarket did not file a complaint against the suspect. Authorities reported that, since the individual entered the country illegally, he was handed over to the National Migration Institute (INM), which will handle the appropriate legal proceedings for his repatriation.

According to reports, Félix “N” has been living in Mexico for about two years and is said to have worked as a waiter at a nightclub in the state of Hidalgo before recently relocating to Puebla.

The Cuautlancingo government warned that it is working together with the INM to identify foreign individuals in irregular migration status who commit crimes in the municipality.
