The national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, returned to social media with his tropical take on the fighting spirit.
Lying on a mattress, wielding a Soviet PKM machine gun from the 1960s and flaunting an elite fake Rolex, the author of “cultiva tu pedacito” declared emphatically that “our people desire peace, but war will not surprise them.”

"You're running out of time! Do you already have your family safe or have you found a country for them to escape to?", asked independent journalist Javier Díaz. "It's almost time for these clowns to have their circus shut down," added another.

While the propaganda clings to textbook heroism, the army that claims to be ready for war remains stuck in the 80s, with rusty rifles, parade uniforms, and slogans that no longer frighten anyone.
As a commentator summarized the pathetic image and current moment: "Lying on a mattress posing for a photo. Is this how you plan to beat the Delta Force?".
