A Cuban resident on the island excitedly shared on TikTok the huge package of food and essential products she received from a Puerto Rican friend living in Connecticut, for whom she expressed gratitude for the generous shipment amidst the difficult economic situation in Cuba.

"I live in Cuba and have never left Cuba, however, I have a Puerto Rican friend and a gift she sent me a while ago just arrived. She is Virginia, the sweetest and kindest boricua from the state of Connecticut," shared the user identified as @yaneisycanta_98 in her video titled "What a package!".

The young woman recounted that the package arrived broken but with everything inside intact, containing items ranging from rice, various types of beans, and oil to shampoo and conditioner. “I can’t wait to try that oil with bread,” she commented with laughter.

“She put in a lot of effort; she sent things so that I wouldn’t have to shop for at least two months or more. I am so grateful to her and her family, and to everyone who helped make this possible,” she said excitedly.

The Cuban woman assured that her friend had never sent a package to the island and was worried about the condition in which the products would arrive, but everything arrived in perfect condition. "I couldn't be happier," she added, showing the items on camera.

The video, which has received dozens of comments, reflects the reality of many Cubans who rely on support from family and friends abroad to access basic products that are scarce in the country.

"Tell me how long you think all that food will last me," the young woman concluded with laughter, once again expressing her gratitude for her Puerto Rican friend's generous gesture.
