A young self-taught Cuban musician, known on social media as @enyerproduce, found his artistic path by singing in French, a rare choice on the Island that has earned him thousands of followers both inside and outside of Cuba.

Residing in Guantánamo, the artist shared in a post that it all started “one early morning, around three o'clock,” when inspiration caught him in the studio. “I still hadn't defined my career as a singer, but I knew one thing for sure: I needed to sit down and let my heart speak,” he recounted.

From that inspiration, the song Nous avons fait l’amour was created, which was recorded spontaneously and published with a music video the following day.

According to reports, the song began to gain support from listeners in France, Europe, Canada, Spain, Brazil, the United States, and several countries in Latin America and Africa.

It is not entirely surprising that an artist from Guantánamo embraces French influences. In eastern Cuba, particularly in Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba, there is a strong influence from Haitian Creole due to historical migrations. Provinces like Cienfuegos and Holguín also bear traces of French heritage.

Enyer Produce confessed in a recent interview that his pronunciation of French is not the most polished, but he believes he can hold a face-to-face conversation with any of his fans.

"This is just the beginning," asserts the singer, confident that his music can continue to cross borders and unite cultures.
