The Cuban pitcher Yusniel Padrón Artiles, who is on the reserve list for the Cuba team for the upcoming World Classic and recently participated in the Series of the Americas, was arrested in Miami-Dade County, according to initial reports from journalist Daniel Benítez on his social media.
According to public records cited in the publication, Padrón Artiles was incarcerated on February 19, charged with trafficking in powdered cocaine and facing a second additional charge that would include the alleged possession of a firearm.
Until now, the baseball player remains detained without the right to bail.
