The Cuban singer Alain Pérez confirmed that he managed to recover most of his personal documents after he published a video hours earlier in which he desperately asked for help to locate the lost backpacks following the death of his grandfather.

In a new message shared on Facebook, the musician further clarified that it was his grandfather, Eduardo Pérez, and not his mother, who passed away, refuting information that circulated on a digital page.

Pérez recounted that several neighbors spotted a man throwing documents in the public street and decided to intervene. “Thank God, some neighbors saw a person dropping papers on the street, confronted him, and collected everything. They had all my passports. My angels saved me,” he said.

The artist publicly thanked those who recovered his documents, including his passports and driver's license. However, he noted that some documents belonging to his wife are still missing, so he remains hopeful of retrieving them as well.

He also noted that the suspicious person was captured on neighborhood surveillance cameras and that, if authorities permit, he could share the video to help identify them.

Hours earlier, Pérez had pleaded on social media for them to return at least the papers, even offering to let them keep the money and other valuables that were in the backpacks. As he explained at the time, the documents were essential for being able to work and travel.

The musician also expressed gratitude for the messages of support and condolences he received during this challenging family moment. “Since yesterday's concert, life has changed quite a bit, but we are here,” he stated.

The artist concluded his message by asking for eternal rest for his grandfather and reiterating his gratitude to those who helped him.
