The Central Army of Cuba reported on social media that it begins March with intensive training for the Anti-Air Defense Brigades, focusing on enhancing the skills of its combatants and maintaining vigilance over national airspace, amidst a new narrative of "being ready" to confront any threat.

In the official posts on their Facebook profile, it was claimed that the units are in the final stage of training, which includes two weeks of intensive preparation exercises to fulfill what they describe as their "sacred duty" to defend the homeland.

The official statements indicate that in the face of any scenario or threat, the brigades will be ready to act with firmness and honor, emphasizing slogans like "Homeland or Death" and underscoring that the Cuban skies will always be protected by those wearing the olive green uniform, according to messages disseminated by the Central Army.

The information matches the year declared by the authorities as 2026 for defense preparation, with training scheduled every weekend.

This push for military preparation occurs in a context of increasing tensions with the United States, where incidents such as the exchange of gunfire between Cuban forces and a vessel registered in Florida have complicated bilateral relations in recent weeks.

Additionally, this new campaign by the regime has as a background recent statements from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who stated that his administration will initiate a “friendly and controlled takeover” of Cuba.

The Cuban regime has intensified its rhetoric on external threats and has promoted territorial defense exercises as part of its strategy in response to what it deems as aggressions and pressures from Washington.
