The Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey reported new acts of vandalism in the Major General Ignacio Agramonte and Loynaz Park, one of the most emblematic spaces in the historic center of the city.
According to the institution's social media, the actions caused visible damage to the park, which is regarded as a foundational site and an identity symbol of Camagüey, thus impacting its image and preservation.
Following the incident, members of the Maintenance Brigade of the Office of the Historian, along with students from the Francisco Sánchez Betancourt Vocational School, carried out cleaning efforts in the affected area. However, authorities indicated that some of the damages were irreversible.
The institution called on the public to take an active role in the protection of historical heritage, considering that such behaviors represent a serious social indiscipline and threaten the preservation of publicly valued cultural spaces.
