The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, reported this Saturday that the island's diplomatic missions in the Middle East are actively monitoring the situation of Cuban citizens residing in various countries in the region.
Through a message posted on the social network X, the chancellor noted that the Cuban embassies are in constant communication with compatriots living in the areas affected by the bombings.
"Given the situation in the Middle East, our diplomatic missions are actively monitoring and maintaining constant communication with the Cuban residents in Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar," wrote Rodríguez.
The head of Cuban diplomacy added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also providing information and support to relatives and loved ones in Cuba who have expressed concern about the situation of their family members in those countries.
"Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends this attention to the families and loved ones in Cuba who have shown concern for the situation of these compatriots," he stated.
Rodríguez also assured that the Cuban government remains committed to providing consular assistance to citizens of the island who are abroad.
The statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, which have sparked international concern over the risk of an escalation of conflict in the region; this is set against a backdrop of increasing criticism of the island's diplomatic missions worldwide for their inefficiency in handling requests.
