Professor Abel Ernesto Tablada de la Torre, a faculty member of the Faculty of Architecture at the Technological University of Havana (CUJAE) and brother of the Cuban diplomat Johana Tablada, avoided publicly confirming his alleged expulsion from the institution following the spread of messages claiming that he would not continue teaching classes.

In a phone conversation with journalist Mario Pentón, the academic declined to provide details about his situation and stated that the matter is being handled through internal channels.

"We are addressing this issue internally; I cannot provide information on that matter. I appreciate your concern," he responded when asked.

When asked if the text circulating on WhatsApp and other platforms was authored by him, the professor neither confirmed nor directly denied the information.

The circulated messages claim that the university administration had prevented him from continuing to teach after the publication of two critical posts on social media.

According to those reports, the teacher even expressed his willingness to continue teaching without pay, an option that was also denied to him.

The alleged departure of the professor has sparked discussions on social media, where some users point out that it would not be the first time a university teacher faces consequences for expressing critical views about the system in Cuba.

The case gains additional visibility because it involves the brother of Johana Tablada, an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the deputy head of the Cuban Embassy in Mexico, although there is no official confirmation regarding a formal expulsion or the extent of the measures taken.
