The President of the United States, Donald Trump, emphasized this Monday in Doral, Miami, the importance of the Cuban American vote and recalled the strong support he received from that community during the elections.

During statements to the press, the president stated that the support of Cuban Americans was decisive and emphasized that this is a community that deeply values freedom.

"And many people who live there are part of the Cuban-American vote, which I achieved at record levels. Very important. Those people are very important to me. I know what they went through. They went through hell," Trump stated.

The president also highlighted the success achieved by many members of that community in the United States, especially in the business sector.

According to him, numerous Cuban Americans have become some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country after emigrating from the island.

Trump also reiterated his criticisms of the Cuban regime and stated that for decades, the government of Havana has survived thanks to the economic support from Venezuela.

"The Castro regime was brutal, but it relied on Venezuela. They sent energy, fuel, oil, and money. Now they have none of that", he pointed out.

The leader stated that the current situation in Cuba is very difficult due to the economic and energy crisis the island is experiencing.

In that context, Trump also suggested that a significant change could occur in Cuba's future.

It could be a friendly takeover. It may not be., he said, referring to the possibility that the situation on the island could ultimately be resolved through an agreement or other means.
