The Cuban Observatory of Human Rights (OCDH) reported that during February 2026, at least 231 repressive actions were registered in Cuba, directed against activists, opponents, and citizens.
According to the report released by the organization, among the documented incidents are 31 arbitrary detentions and 200 abuses by the regime, which encompass various forms of harassment and police control.
One of the methods most commonly used by the authorities was the police cordon around the homes of activists, with 83 reported cases. In addition, the report recorded 25 threats, 25 acts of harassment, 21 police summonses, and 32 abuses against political and common prisoners.
The OCDH noted that the provinces with the highest number of reported repressive incidents were Havana, Pinar del Río, Ciego de Ávila, and Camagüey.
The organization also alerted regarding several serious incidents that occurred during the month, which they consider clear violations of human rights and whose circumstances remain under investigation.
"While the regime continues in its political and economic stagnation, repression against citizens does not stop in Cuba," stated the Observatory in its report.
