The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that his administration is in talks with Cuba and suggested that some kind of agreement could be reached in the near future.

During statements to the press, Trump asserted that Havana is interested in negotiating with Washington. “We are talking to Cuba, and something will happen very soon,” said the president regarding the situation on the island.

The president also labeled Cuba as "a failed nation" and assured that his administration is evaluating the next steps regarding the Caribbean country.

Trump stated that, although discussions are ongoing, his administration is currently focused on other international issues. "We are talking to Cuba, but we will deal with Iran before Cuba," he said.

The official added that many Cuban exiles in the United States have been waiting for decades for changes on the island.

"There are many people from Cuba who were violently expelled from the country. They have been waiting for 50 years for what is happening with Cuba," he commented.

Trump also mentioned that during his departure from Palm Beach, he saw thousands of people on the road, including Cubans and Venezuelans, waving flags of their countries and the United States.

According to the president, this support reflects the expectation that changes will occur on the island. "I believe something is going to happen with Cuba quite soon," he concluded.
