The ridiculousness of the regime knows no bounds: Cuban authorities organized an "official event" to return the sports equipment that had been stolen from the Matanzas baseball team late last year.

The "event" took place at the Victoria de Girón stadium, with the presence of players from the Cocodrilos de Matanzas, led by their director Armando Ferrer, as well as sports officials from the province and representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, reported the state-run newspaper Girón on its Facebook profile.

According to the authorities, various branches of the MININT participated in the recovery efforts, alongside mass organizations and citizens.

At the end of last year, a game between the Cocodrilos de Matanzas and the Toros de Camagüey was suspended after a robbery was reported inside the stadium facilities, an event deemed "unacceptable" by sports authorities and the teams involved.

Major Yandy Iparraguirre López, criminal instructor at the provincial unit for criminal investigations, emphasized the collaborative efforts that enabled the recovery of the stolen items.

For his part, Armando Ferrer thanked the speed with which the recovery was handled and stated that the theft represented a psychological blow for the team, although it also served as motivation during the season.

"The robbery, despite being a psychological blow, made us work harder, and in the end, we achieved our goal," stated the mentor of the team, which ultimately became the national champion.

The team captain, Eduardo Blanco, also positively assessed the return of the equipment, emphasizing its economic and sentimental value for the players.

The ceremony was presented as a demonstration of the authorities' response to such events, in a context marked by increasing economic difficulties in the country.

In other words: yet another example of how the regime seizes any opportunity at hand to conduct a political propaganda act.
