Long lines and delays at security checks have caused dissatisfaction among travelers at the Miami International Airport (MIA) during the peak travel days of Spring Break, according to reports from Telemundo.
The situation is due to staff cuts and delays in employee payments from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which has reduced the capacity to process passengers normally.
Several travelers described the conditions at the airport as "horrible," facing wait times much longer than usual to pass through security checks.
According to the report, the long lines have caused delays in flights and congestion in the terminals during one of the busiest travel times of the year at Miami International Airport.
Spring Break attracts thousands of travelers to South Florida each year, significantly increasing passenger flow at the airport, a situation that has been exacerbated by a lack of personnel at security checkpoints.
