A traffic accident that occurred in the city of Holguín has raised concerns among residents and social media users after images of the incident were shared, taking place on Avenida Los Internacionalistas, just before the entrance to the Pedro Díaz Coello neighborhood.
The information was initially shared by the Facebook group "Soy Holguín", where the first images from the site were posted.
According to that preliminary report, a red Lada car allegedly collided with a tricycle, although this information has not been officially confirmed.
The photographs depict a scene that highlights the seriousness of the incident: the tricycle was completely overturned on the road.
An ambulance quickly arrived to transport an elderly woman who was at the scene.

Among the reactions, a young woman identified as a direct relative of the victims provided a different account from the initial one. "The ones in the tricycle were my parents. They were hit from behind, but thank God it wasn't serious. They are doing better now," she stated.
In another comment, he noted that the vehicle that struck the tricycle may have been under the influence of alcohol: "Those who hit it apparently were under the influence of alcohol and collided from behind; let's avoid speaking without knowing and respect above all."
Other users provided different versions of what happened. One of them stated: "It wasn't a red Lada, it was a truck. It was the tricycle that jumped in front; the driver didn't look back, and that's why the truck hit him," highlighting the lack of clarity surrounding the actual causes of the accident.
So far, no authority has confirmed the details, leaving questions about how the impact actually occurred.

The accident has rekindled a recurring debate about the use of tricycles on public roads. Several internet users expressed concern about the driving of these vehicles.
A professional driver expressed her concern emphatically: "Those tricycles are a real threat. Every day, there's one involved in an accident. The main causes: they make U-turns or turn in any direction without looking back. (...) I've chosen to brake when I see one, because on four occasions I've been mere centimeters away from hitting them," she recounted.
In the same vein, another user remarked: "Until they start checking everyone riding those tricycles, this will keep happening… They constantly drive on the left, swerve around potholes without looking in the mirrors, make U-turns, weave in and out, and I've even seen them going against traffic. It's madness."
