A traffic accident involving two passenger buses resulted in 11 people injured in the municipality of Cauto Cristo, in the province of Granma.
According to Radio Bayamo, the vehicles, both rented for passenger transport, collided head-on near the La Seis community, prompting the swift activation of emergency services in the area.
The injured were initially taken to the municipal clinic Joel Benítez Borges, where it was confirmed that they all have multiple contusions.
They were later transferred to Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Hospital in Bayamo for more specialized care.
Among the injured is a minor, an 11-month-old infant, who was taken to the children's hospital in Bayamo without apparent complications.
Health authorities specified that, as of the closing of the information, none of the patients show life-threatening injuries, although they remain under medical evaluation to determine the severity of each case.
The accident highlights once again the risks of transportation on the island, where the deterioration of the vehicle fleet and the condition of the roads frequently contribute to such incidents.
