A video by the Miami-based content creator from Guantanamo, Plácido Ferreiro Romero, has gone viral on social media after he dedicated a song to a controversial Cuban issue in Italy related to groups supporting the regime.
The clip, shared on Facebook, has amassed nearly 400,000 views. It has dozens of comments highlighting the catchy rhythm of this musical piece and the message that has resonated with many users.
The song is directed at Ada Galano, president of the National Coordinator of Cuban Residents in Italy (CONACI), who recently stirred controversy by defending the continuity of tourism in Cuba amid the crisis.
From Havana, where he was participating in the "Nuestra América" convoy, Galano criticized those who call for hotel closures and accused them of not loving the Cuban people.
His statements have sparked strong backlash, particularly among those who denounce the precarious conditions faced by Cubans on the island, characterized by food shortages, blackouts, and collapsed services, while the regime prioritizes hotel investment.
The controversy intensified after Galano stated that she would be willing to die for the country and even requested access to weapons during a meeting with Miguel Díaz-Canel. In this context, the viral song "gives it to her straight" and amplifies the debate on social media.
