The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated this Wednesday that the Cuban regime is in serious trouble and hinted that the Trump administration is preparing upcoming changes in its policy towards the island.
The statements, provided to Fox News and reported on X by journalist Eric Daugherty, once again reinforced the perception that Marco Rubio and President Trump are eager for Cuba to fall soon.
Rubio, appointed Secretary of State by Donald Trump in January 2025, also stated that "the people in charge of the government apparatus there are incompetent and unable to solve these problems."
He also stated that "Cuba needs two things: economic reforms and political reforms. Its economy cannot be fixed without changing its system of government."
He coincided with Trump in saying that the rulers of the island "are in serious trouble. There's no doubt about it. And you know, we'll have more news on this soon. We are also working on it," he assured.
