A trailer crashed into the wall of a house in Artemisa and nearly cost the life of a woman and a minor who were inside, as shown in a video posted on Facebook by the user known as El Funky.

The 39-second clip captures the testimony of the affected individual, who identifies herself as a municipal employee and describes with evident distress what happened: "I was cooking and the child reached for me so that they could have killed me, damn it, and I don’t know any person; I am a municipal employee."

The statement reveals that the woman was cooking at the moment of the impact and that both she and the child were in direct danger.

No fatalities are reported in the available information about the incident.

The accident adds to a series of similar incidents recorded in Cuba in recent months. In March 2026, a truck crashed into a house in Santiago de Cuba and blocked its entrance; the driver left without checking for damage or injuries.

In February 2026, a truck with a container knocked down poles and cables in Matanzas and the driver also left the scene.

The province of Artemisa itself has a serious history of traffic accidents. In February 2024, at least 28 people were injured in Bahía Honda when the vehicle transporting young members of the Union of Young Communists crashed while returning from a work-related activity.

In April 2022, an ambulance was destroyed after colliding with a truck in Artemisa, and that same month a young man died on the central highway after being struck by a driver who fled the scene.

The deterioration of the vehicle fleet, poor road conditions, and lack of signage are structural factors that contribute to the high traffic accident rate on the island, according to reports from early 2026.

In the absence of official media coverage, citizen reporting through social networks has become the main channel for bringing these kinds of events to light, as was the case with the video that has already garnered nearly 9,000 views on Facebook.
