The broadcast remained on air without interruptions.

Lázaro Guerra Hernández, General Director of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), experienced a health incident during a live television broadcast last Wednesday, while delivering his usual report on the forecast for power outages for the day.

At the 5:40 mark of the broadcast on Canal Caribe, just as he was about to explain to journalist Bernardo Espinosa what the situation with the floating power plants was, Guerra Hernández began to breathe with difficulty, as if he were lacking air.

Suddenly, the executive from MINEM signaled and called someone off-camera, placed his hand on his chest, and left the broadcast without explaining the reason.

At that moment, the journalist Bernardo Espinosa temporarily took over the report, trying to fill the gap.

The broadcast remained uninterrupted. Minutes later, Lázaro Guerra returned on camera, apparently recovered, and continued with the day's energy report.

The incident was neither clarified by Lázaro Guerra nor by the journalist, but certainly, the event did not go unnoticed.

“They have that man living with brutal stress, telling the people that many lies every day is already taking its toll on him”; “Lazarito almost had a heart attack live on air from lying so much to the people”; “Lázaro couldn’t take it anymore”; “Lázaro almost collapsed”; “Ohhh, Lázaro doesn’t look very well,” were some of the comments generated by the scene.

The incident occurred in a context characterized by extensive blackouts across the country, including Havana.

As usual, the lack of fuel, breakdowns in generating units, and scheduled maintenance at thermal power plants are the main reasons cited by MINEM officials to justify the severe power outages.

Lázaro Guerra also presented yesterday's report, but not the one for this Friday.
